Achtung, Spitfire!!!!

So as of today, I've built 20 Spitfires of various marks (of those that I can remember - I'm sure I've built a few more :-D )

1/48
  • Airfix old tool mk.Va
    Airfix old tool mk.XVIe
    Eduard mk.XVIe
    Airfix mk. XII
    Airfix Seafire mk.IIIC
1/72
  • Airfix old tool mk.I converted to mk.II
Airfix new tool mk.I converted to PR MK.I
Airfix new tool mk.I with two blade prop
    Airfix new tool mk.I
Airfix new tool mk.I later boxing
    Airfix mk.Vb
    RS Models Spitfire mk.vb Floatplane
    Revell mk.Vb with clipped wings
    Airfix mk. IX
    Brengun mk.IX Floatplane
    Special Hobby PR mk.X
    Matchbox ml.XVIe
    Airfix new tool mk. XIX
    Airfix mk.22
    Airfix mk.24
So there's always room for a few more right? Right. So some of the builds I have planned for this year are a couple of more Spitfires. :bored:

The first off is a basic OOB in flight build of Airfix's simplified starter set mk.Vc

Image

I then have these two kits...

Image

One of which will be the USAAF markings with the shark mouth because it'd be rude not too, and the other will be this rather gnatty PRU blue over Grey SAAF version from Xtradecal's 'fighters over the med' set.

Image

I then have a few of these...

Image

I have already built two of these - see below, but what I intend to do is use these three conversion sets to make a PR. MK.III, a MK.II and a MK.II LR with it's oddball fixed tank under one wing.

And if I get room after that lot, I also have four P-40s in the stash. along with another Hurricane or two.

Cheers!... Oh and here are some previous builds...

You, sir, have a serious problem and need a hobby.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

You know, if I had the time I probably would just for a laugh! I did do that kind of stuff in art class at school.

Just tell the wife to make you one. Yep, that should work.

Stuart, if you’re gonna have an obsession, I can think of worse obsessions to have… :hmm:

Very nice collection!

Pffftt… my mom tried to crochet a blanket for a lifetime. She always starts one so about yea wide and at least 5 inches high before she gets bored and starts another color for a new one. She’s done God only know how many. I told my mom in the nursing home string’em all together and you got one ugly @$$ blanket.
She never did. But cleaning out the house when my dad went in the nursing home fell on me. The bedroom closet was filled floor to ceiling, wall to wall of yarn my mom hoarded over the years.
