Hi All,

So this is my completed Tamiya Sherman. Overall I'm pretty pleased with it. No, it's not the best Armour build ever, no I didn't to do everything I wanted, but I did manage to push it through to completion and I can see that hopefully I have some base skills I can build on on future projects - mainly in the weathering. Overall though I enjoyed it - which is I guess the main point... Hell, I loved it in fact - it was great fun.

Totally OOB except boxing in the lower upper hull and the string I used as 'rope'. Rattle can OD with various other paints and weathering materials etc. Off the top of my head, it was Citadel washes and Humbrol weathering powders.

On the next build I'd really like to have a go at making some form of tarpaulin, and I need more practice with figure painting. I'm pretty pleased with these two as a first attempt in 1/35, I think my experience in painting pilots and 28mm miniatures helped, but I need to do more in the highlights and faces. I have bought some new paints that should help - ICM's US and British paint sets and I have some Tamiya figure sets that I can practice on.

Anyway - here we go. Sorry that the pictures aren't the best, but this is my third attempt. I need to sort myself out with a light box I think.

Overall I enjoyed getting back into 1/35, and am looking forward to building more. I need to finish the Tiger and K2?Y Ambulance I was working on, but I also had some pretty cool presents this year I want to crack into as well.

Thanks Tom. These figures were actually pretty simple. Just base painting and a wash. I did add some highlights to the faces. On the next ones I do I'd like to try highlights to the clothes etc. as well.

Lol! the track, yeah. That was annoying. It was correct originally but after I removed it to help sort out the sag, I put it on backwards I didn't notice until I'd CA'd everything in place. Thankfully I have seen at least one in service photo of an M4 with one track on backwards, so I can live with it!

I've been eying up the M4A3E8 I have in the stash, it would be cool to have the two displayed together. But I should probably finish the Tiger I was building first, or the Matilda I got for my Birthday, or even that M48 that's been collecting dust for years lol!

Nice finish Stuart. Now don't go all dark side and start building track things. You must see the light and build a wingy thing

To be honest I'd love to be able to build both alongside each other (hell I even have two work spaces) but I just can't seem to find an aircraft project that holds my attention for more than an hour or so. I started a P-40 the other day and I love P-40's, but it just didn't retain my interest. It's not the subject, I love aircraft, especailly WWII fighters... Maybe I just need to build something a bit out of my norm.
