Hi All,

Alongside the Sherman, I've been building this little Tamiya Ford GPA as a D-day tribute.



It's a really nifty little kit if you get a chance to build one. It's been a lot of fun thus far.



It has an engine, that can be displayed if you feel that way inclined.





PE come as part of the kit...



Rattle can primer and OD...





This is where it stands currently (the wheels are only push fitted on for the photo). I just need to do the decals on the other side. Clear was Mr. Hobby Super Gloss from a can. I've been using these for a year or two now and they work really well.

The decals are acting a lot better than those on the Sherman. The star over the PTO hump is putting up a little bit of a fight, I do wonder if my Mircosol is getting a bit old.



The only thing I'm not happy with is the driver - he doesn't fit the steering wheel and I don't like his pose. I might try and cut his arms up to change the position - one on the steering wheel and one on the gears.



Once the decals are on I'll clear them and work on some weathering. I don't want to dirty it up too much, but it needs griming up a bit. I'd also like to add some rope to the Capstan winch, but I'm not sure how to do that.

It's a really interesting subject, not quite as successful as the DUWK, but still used in all theaters of the war.





I wish I could get some decent views of the winch in the front, just to see how they had rope arranged.

Thanks Carlos, I agree, it's not a bad little kit at all.

Made some progress on this.... Paint and decals are done. I've also given it a coat of Flory 'Grime' wash and I've started loading out the interior.



I want to add a loose winding of rope around the winch and some more boxes and a .30Cal into the interior. I'd like to wrap the MG in a trap/blanket and tuck it in front of the ammo boxes but I'm not sure how to do that yet.



I've also modded the driver and repositioned his right arm to be changing gear. I want to make up his pack with some kit parts and tin foil straps and put it on the passenger seat.

Any idea where I can get a 1/35 Grease gun from?

Cool kit! I'll betcha it'll make a great fishing boat nowadays. No trailer needed. Just drive onto the nearest lake and fish to one's heart's content.
