Broke out the F4F as a little side project, to go along with the SBD.
True Details pit...
Dragon instructions....
...NO pit....NO engine...NO puting the gears in place...etc
In my haste to get this thing closed up....
That little window is supposed to go in that hole...from the inside, before closing it up......
There is a small amount of room, to go in through the pit, but I know I'da made a mess with some glue.
Then I thought...just glue em in backwards and sand down the excess....too much curve, no joy.
Gonna have to make my own...
Carved out a "window" in a piece of scrap, (just slightly larger than need be).
Bent the plastic over a pin vice (for the curve)...heated up some clear sprue and pressed it into the "window".
A little bit of carving and trial-n-error...parts CA'ed in place...
Snipped off most of the excess, then used a grinding drum to grind them down close...
Then used a finer grinding bit to get them even closer...
Sandpaper to finish them off, followed by a good polishing.
...a lot of time spent, for what should have taken about 20 seconds if I had put the kit parts in when I should have.
