Good one!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Yes, cold kills CA joins. A couple of hours in a freezer will let you pop them off quickly, even if you allowed the joins to “cure” for a few days. I’m not sure if CA cures—or if CA just crystallizes. Might be one and the same. Glad you figured out how to do it.

PE wing braces on wing leading edges are toast. Could not straighten them out. Out came the debonder and removed them. I improvised by making new ones using stretched sprues. Measured PE braces on blue painter tape and eyeballed with small ruler and made a template on paper. Stuck each template under glass pane I had; placed stretched sprues on opposite glass part as my template, cut, extra thin CA glue using needle probe. Carefully removed from glass with flat blade and set aside. Repeat for remaining wing braces for ballon cutter.
Main center PE cable cutter brace is perfect as well as cutter blades wing tips to main center attachment point is good.
Next to sand excess glue where PE wing brace points are, repaint and install new sprue braces. I will paint them first before attaching to wings leading edges.
Did I mention I hate working with PE ???? Don’t get me wrong… I can handle decent size PE parts. Just hate working with small fiddly PE parts.

Damaged PE braces...

New ones using stretched sprues. I know they have to be cut to correct length. Hoping they will hold. If not, I'll have to get some styrene strips at a local HobbyTown and try again.

Wings cleaned up using David Union Variable Speed Linear Stroke Sander. Touch up should be a breeze.

This pen sander is a God send. It does sanding an ordinary Dremel can't do. Everyone should buy one. Well worth the money.

Ah, very cool, Tom! Looks pretty amazing to me. I normally would avoid interior finishing of any wing/fuselage areas because I'm always worried about detail or paint loss, but looks good with the new device you are using. Cheers

Looks like you're on the road to recovery Tom, that all looks good.
It's an insane contraption - I wonder how that massive cable cutter effected the performance of the aircraft.
That sanding tool looks good - I've been wondering about getting something like that. I like the sound of it being a backwards/forwards movement rather than rotary.

It effected the performance considerably. Besides the cutter on the front there was a counterweight in the back. It was basically fully loaded all the time. If they were caught by fighters it was a sitting duck. They also did this modification to the Ju 88. Same scenario.

That must have been a total pig to fly.
