Started this one several days ago. I've succumbed to the dark side of modeling. I really like this kit and how it goes together. Seams are minimal at the worst, coming to love Tamiya Extra Thin, too. It will be OOB and probably use box decals if they are still good. They look okay to me.



Things went together very well.....only one little "oopsie" and I am not telling.



Threw some white on the insides of the hull. It seemed to need it. I'm not planning on trying to add anything at this point.







I did add a couple of pieces of sheet stock to fill in the opening under the fenders....nothing but air, otherwise.





At the point of adding all the fiddly bits to the upper hull. For the moment, I'm only adding the "tank" parts and not the accessories, unless I have to. There was a hand crank under the rear shelf that absolutely could not have been added later, and now that the shelf is added, cannot be seen!

With the old junk I buy, the fit is not usually good enough to use it, at least for me. This is a great kit and probably the same year of issue as the one you built!

Yay another tank here! And a M4 at that! That is a great simple old kit... easily built in a day. If you want to dress it up a bit more beyond what you did with the sheet plastic sponson bottoms, you may want to add stretched sprue into the top deck weld seams. Batch them with Tamiya xtra thin cement and texture them to look like a proper weld bead. The kit depicts all the weld seams up there as trenches, which is not quite correct.

Thanks for the tip, Stik. I may try that if I get to feeling lucky. One of the taillight guards came apart on me when I cut it loose. That has been the biggest problem so far.

Okie dokie...Almost ready for paint and stuff. Trying Stikpusher's recommendation as well.

Looks good Lyle. I'm with Stik on this one, about time we see some more armor being built! I guess the irony being that I switched to aircraft in order to take a break from armor

FWIW-Archer makes some fantastic resin "weld bead" decals of various sizes.

Thanks, Joe. I'm not ready or at a comfy place to start adding any aftermarket. I think I jumped in the deep end too, quickly, so i'm going back to grade school, so to speak.This thing was really fun to work on and I needed that.

First time to try the weld seams with stretched sprue.



Got some flat black from a rattle can applied. Next is the OD, I guess.
