So here it is, in all its’ glory, my completed build of the 1970’s vintage F-16 prototype kit. I painted it in the sky camouflage worn during the fly off competition between the YF-16 and YF-17 in 1974 at Edwards AFB. I built this kit OOB, and even though the kit did not show how to paint this scheme, the decals are for another scheme worn by this aircraft later in the flight test program and usable on this scheme.

That is blooming superb Carlos - very well done! I love that scheme on the F-16, it looks awesome!

Tom, Mike, and Stuart, thank you! This was a good build to wrap up fresh starts for the year.

Now if I can get a shelf of doom or two project done by the new years I’ll be golden.

Bravo, mate! It's quite a shot having them all together like that, makes me think about the effort it takes to take an older tooling and turn it into a timeless version of an aircraft. Kudos on the scheme itself; it's a wonderful choice to showcase something that was basically used for its trials. I do wonder if there is some kind of thought process behind the use of that consistency of yellow agains the grey. The grey I can understand as its the start point for the finish itself and absolutely neutral. I wonder why they chose the yellow? Do you happen to know why?
