The Duke Finishes Two Helicopters in August

Today I can show two more helicopters I finished this month. The first one is the Mach 2 1/72 scale SM-1/300 helicopter:

It's rather crude, but it's the best I can do with a Mach 2 kit. They truly define "short run" kits!

And next is the Revell 1/72 scale US Coat Guard HH-65 Dauphin, my first Coast Guard helicopter:

I did my best with this too, but it seems lately, I'm not achieving the best quality that I can. I'm guessing it's because of some of the health issues I'm going through. At least I'm still building though.

Thank you for looking in, comments are welcome.

Those look nevertheless very good Mark, the Dauphin outstanding!

Red and white color schemes are for me a no go, knowing how difficult (in my opinion) it is to work with such strong contrast.
But you nailed them!

Sorry to hear about your ongoing health issues, I hope they are soon behind you.

Nice pair of whirlybirds Mark! The first one looks kinda funky, but the Coastie Dolphin looks sweet! I remember seeing those things fly up and down the shoreline when I would be doing my bike rides along PCH. A very unique sound due to the tail rotor.

Thank you Kari! Yeah, red and white are a touch color combination to get right. I don't much like painting them either.

Thank you Mike!

Thank you Stuart!

Thank you Carlos! Yeah, that Russian made bird does look funky. They built them odd back then. I also love the sound of those fenestron tail rotors.
