My own personal pledge to NOT start anything new until after Christmas, like an Israeli-Palestinian truce, may be in jeopardy. I've had this kit sitting in my stash since I was in college, and I picked up some resin for it a few years back...

The Official Declaration of build-i-ness:

With this resin for the cockpit:

Obviously I plan on keeping the canopy open on this one, so whatever can't be found in the AM set will be scratched.

Kit decals look fine:

The sprues:

Glass is actually better than I remember, but not perfect. With all that resin going into the cockpit I'll be leaving the canopy open anyway...

Cannon gondolas - have soft detail & one barrel has already snapped. [doh] Most pics I've seen show these installed but I'll look around some more. I may see if I can scavenge replacements from that Academy kit I have.

So, the cockpit situation:

Decent raised detail.

Hey, I've seen worse.

BUT, the Aires set:

PLUS all sorts of PE bits, AND acetate instrument dials.

So, the kit is what it is. All in all, it's got a low parts count, panel lines & other exterior detail looks fine. Control surfaces & connections are a little dodgy. Interior details are not extensive but not an issue with my AM set in play. And I've heard no horror stories about fit & the actual build. Well worth the $10 I threw at it.

Hobbycraft 109 is actually a pretty decent kit for the number of parts...your first foray in quarter scale?

On the 20mm wing pods, I'd just replace the plastic barrels w some fine tubing...

This will be neat to watch! I like the Hobbycraft 109 kit family.
