My 1st new start of the year, kicking off tomorrow. Monogram's venerable Hawker Typhoon IB in 1/48 scale, with some help from Ultracast. I am gonna be making this in the guise of a RCAF 439 Squadron Tiffy, which was a bomb rack equipped unit. I have some Ultracast bomb racks to address that issue as well as some exhausts and a intake dust filter to improve this build. I will be doing it in 1945 markings and my online research into this particular aircraft showed it to be a participant in both Operation Bodenplatte, where it was lightly damaged (unknown if in the air on the patrol flight or on the ground), and Operation Varsity, as well as being pranged in a landing accident in February 1945.

Ultracast has some wonderful stuff out there. The Monogram Tiffy may be aged but still is a great kit to build and show when finished.

Yes, I love Ultracast resin products. Their detail and quality is top notch. I think that I will be able to build this old kit up nice enough.

Thanks for the encouragement fellas. After the past few days of web searching, I am rally starting to look forward to this project. I have become pretty keen on this squadron and on the Tiffy.
