This is a pretty good resin kit, built to give my Revell Stearman some company.
The cockpit interior was added to with some ALPS printed decal faces courtesy of my computer system and its peripherals, and a store of images I keep adding to from the interweb. This, like many resin models has fewer parts than injection molded kits and more details are in the castings. The parts took some heavy duty cleaning and two coats of primer before they were good about holding paint. I had to do some reshaping on the horizontal stabilizers so they would fit with a straight elevator hinge line. I think they mostly ended up parallel to the wing centerline. Otherwise the parts fit a bit better than the average of the resin kits I've built, and the casting quality and surface detail is good.
Six resin rods as well as a resin top bar were supplied to make the overturn structure but I found them just too hard to handle. Like the scissors for the landing gear which I did succeed with, I swear they were made from mexican jumping beans! I bent up some music wire for the overturn structure and just used the top resin part.
Hataka Aggressor Blue C156 and Gunze Mr Color 329 yellow paints. The blue looks close to but a bit darker than the blue on a restored Stearman I used to fly. Don't know which is right, I mixed the blue with Model Master paints for the Stearman. They are probably both right.
The wing handholds were added to by a music wire replacement for the missing tip bow and were carved a little larger, then faired in with Epoxysculpt.

Looks good! Now you need a T-6 and the old Hawk/Testors PT-20 trainers.

This is indeed something that you don't see a lot of being built. Good lookin' build John.

Really looks good! Really like the blue and yellow pre war trainers.

Starting on the T-6 now, making masks for the canopy. I have a Lone Star cockpit set for the PT-20/22 interior and have ordered Mike's PT-22 conversion, Carlos.Stikpusher wrote:Looks good! Now you need a T-6 and the old Hawk/Testors PT-20 trainers.
