OWL builds a tank!

Post by CallSignOWL »

An itty bitty one, but a tank none the less

picked this up at the local HobbyTown. the club is doing a WWI group build and I decited to something a little bit different. Im normally an aircraft modeller, so a tank kit will be a bit of a surprise! This is in 1/72 scale, so yes. tiny!
Image

ok, the tank is tiny, so why are the instructions so big?! Like, really? They take up half my desk.
Image

but it builds up quickly! Here's what I have for tonight. :)

Those WWI tanks are bigger than many of the early Panzers of WWII. Cool project!

yeah, some of those early tigers were small! I had picked a kit up at a club meeting and had to double check it was 1/35 and not 1/48 or something!

Didn't Vance do the old Airfix mk-1 tank? Maybe he has some advice on painting.

Anyway, look like you are of to a quick build of this "target". :stirpot:

Neat camo, Owl. Very nice.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

whoo! thanks guys!

the box schemes called for just a solid khaki or grey but those were boring, so I looked online for some inspiration. This is the one I ultimately went with

but there were fun to consider, too!
