Yamato 2199's Cosmo Falcon | 1/72 | Bandai

Post by CallSignOWL »

Our club had a display at a local comic-con, and while we were encouraged to bring any models we want, I wanted to have something "sci-fi" to bring. All the "sci-fi" I have done is my ZOID! While I didnt get this kit completed in time, I was able to get pretty far.

A quick peek inside the local HobbyTown gave me this thing:

Its the "Cosmo Falcon" from the anime "Space Battleship Yamato 2199"....Ive never even heard of the show, but the plane looks cool. This kit has really sharp moldings. LIke, I wish aircraft kits came this way! I dont care that its multi-colored, this is really nice plastic.

Even though its a snap tite, its marketed towards older modelers, not little kids. For example, the box includes a full sheet of water-slide decals!

The instruction booklet has full color pages, that I assume, go into detail about the kit and the plane featured in teh anime. I say assume, because it's entirely in Japanese. All of it.

Here's what you're supposed to get once everything is finished.

I of course am not one to leave it in plain plastic, however fantastically multicolored it may be.

I'll be doing a scheme based on "War-Wolf" from Ace Combat

more soon!

That is a cool bird. I remember BS Yamato from when I was a kid. I loved that series.

Duh! :dancing:

At least that is what I would like to say. But there is also the actual battleship Yamato. So it could be that he toke that as his nickname.

War Wolf from Ace Combat? What kit was that from?

Went to my LHS the other day and saw a World of Tanks kit. Debated whether I should have grabbed it or not. Wouldn't be surprised if they'd be "hard-to-find" kits just like Ace Combat kits were.

No kit of Warwolf, at least not yet.... I just liked the camo scheme

I found a boxing of the Grabacr Su-47 on amazon the other day for only $26! Heck yeah I scooped that up!!!
