The following photos are of my recently completed build of the 1/32 Special Hobby Hawker Tempest Mk. V "Hi-Tech2" kit. This edition includes a bunch of resin and photoetch enhancements, most notably a very detailed resin depiction of the Napier Sabre engine. I also added the Eduard photoetch brass flaps and used HGW dry transfer for the data stencils. All of the other markings were painted using custom cut masks. The aircraft depicted is JJ+F flown by David C. Fairbanks, an American credited with 15 kills, 14 of which were flying the Tempest.

Outstanding results! This is one excellent build!

John, definitely a build to be proud of. That engine is just beautiful along with all the detail in the cockpit.

The level of detail that you bring to the table with your builds is unbelievable at times. I have learned techniques from you that I now use on my own builds but that's what these forums are for. We all have the opportunity to get better and better at this hobby through watching others successes as well as the failures. Thank you for taking the time to explain and show your techniques.
I really like the fact that the engine is displayed in this build John. I know you couldn't help it but it really just puts another cherry on top of this sweet build.

John, a stunning rendition! I can only echo what the others have said and dream of this level of skill.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Gorgeous build! I’ve always love the looks of the Tempest.

Exceptional! It's model porn. Such a treat for the eyes... so much to look at. I really like the finish.
Thanks,
