Thank you Bruce. We shall see how it un-molds in a few hours. Your detailed instructions helped a lot to remind me of missing steps.

i am really excited you took the approach to do this! Casting parts is a very useful skill, and you are working out the learning curve quickly. Also thanks again for mentioning the “Recips” FB Group.

Okay, it is a dirt-simple kit. Only a dozen parts or so in the main body. But, it went together very well for what I was expecting. I am quite happy with the fit and results. This is with just the primer, Dupli-color gray. I'll rub it down with 0000 steel wool. Almost no filler at all. Just a bit along the spine and some where the wing joins the upper fuselage.

The journey continues. Not as interesting as other's may be, but it is proceeding somewhat. I've been chatting on FB with a fellow in a 3D printing and scratch building page. Good info on making molds, etc. but no takers on printing any props. Guess I'm out of luck. Shapeways seems quite expensive, and I cannot get the site to actually let me contact anyone to ask, so, "Pppffffffftttttttttt!" on them.

Got the silver applied. mostly Tamiya TS-12 rattle can. . Will need to make decals in a day or two.

Still putz-ing around with molding my own props. I've come to the conclusion that propellers in this scale are just about un-moldable without far more expertise than I have. Nonetheless, I have managed to get a few that have two good blades. With that, I can make extras and cut and paste the other blades, I think. I have also contacted Minicraft to see if they will sell me a dozen or so, since they have a 1/200 goose. I did order another from Ebay and got it at a discount. According to the seller, two of the props were busted up..This one may be a Navy birtd, as was suggested.

Thanks, John. You wouldn't happen to have a dozen or so of the 1/200 props laying around, would you?

Given the current business environment, I did not expect a reply from Minicraft for some days....or longer. Just heard from them and they will send me 12 props for 6 dollars. Not a bad outcome. Thank you Minicraft!
