Matchbox 1/72 Hawker Hurricane mk.IID Tank Buster!

Post by Stuart »

Hi All,

Another recent finish for me - Matchbox's old mk.IID tank buster with the underwing 40mm canons. Brush painted with Humbrol enamels and some Hataka acrylics. Although I'm not the best at weathering I wanted to give it a bit of a beating - so I did some weathering with various powders, a stippling brush and silver paint.

Asides from the silvering decals, I'm reasonably happy with it!

Thanks for taking a look!

Cheers!

Don’t look Albino to me. But it is purity.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Looks good to me! I love those old Matchbox kits!

Beautiful work from a beautiful kit, Stuart. Your painting techniques really are a perfect match for the kit design, but above and beyond that, the colors look spot on as well as perfectly applied. Not an easy task with brushes. Congratulations!

Nice job - I have a Hurricane in the stash and want to do 303 squadron. Great build.
Thanks,

Very nice! It’s been a long time since I’ve done a Matchbox kit. I never knew Hurricanes can be armed with cannon pods.

I’ve been wanting to find one. Too bad Airfix discontinued it. I, too, want to do it as 303 squadron.
