Looks great. What a treat to watch, learn and have a ringside seat! Watch your time!

Play with your paint/thinner mixes. Ideally, you should be getting zero grain when shooting through an airbrush. I'll accept a certain amount as a flat coat will hide some grain. Using more thinner will reduce the grain. Don't be afraid of watery mixes as long as they don't run on application. Using an airbrush is all about building up layers.

Thank you, Stuart and Lyle. I added the profile since that is what I am color matching to a great extent, in the interests of critiquing my limitations which are many. I have been puzzling over how to create the proper white blue. Initially I thought I was close enough here.

However this should be much lighter.

Since the project is one quick series of “Crazy Make ‘Em Ups,” I am going to try a few tests with my paint on hand. That was why I pulled out the 1/32 Bf 109 G-Series wing. I am going to use that as my paint mule. With the clarity of hindsight, I chose one heckuva subject to build and paint in three weeks without the “correct” paints, but I do enjoy the challenge, and I am “over the hump” with any reservations against building or getting lost in finescale details. Let’s see how close I can get to that Late War Luftwaffe Weisblau.

Today-

Finish painting the fuselage insignia; Done

Paint the 1/32 Bf 109 Gustav wing to look as close to RLM 76 as possible; with the goal being once the fuse is closed up to adjust the lightened RLM 65 to RLM 76; Done

Mask the canopy or at least the fixed front section of the canopy; the windshield. I found a good pair of images online:

Man those end of war photos... :wow: Those survivors went from being objects of fear to objects of curiosity.

This is coming my together nicely Bruce. You have got this well in hand.
