Does the kit not have a solid location for them?

No there is a lot of play, nothing solid, unfortunately.

The 109’s main landing gear has a very peculiar stance, splayed forwards and outwards. Look at photos from head on and 90* broadside to get a good idea of their positioning.

Congrats on mounting the wings Bruce and congrats on the extension. God provides! I love the camo pattern and the 256; you really nailed that! You got this Bruce! Bring it home!

Man, that really good with wings, and paint and stuff!

Ahhhh... an extension and the wings are on! Both positive news! What's that about the landing gear legs? If the connection has lots of play, you'll have to listen to Carlos and base position on the best references you can get your hands on. You're going to have to play in all three dimensions, which makes it tricky. The most important thing is that the legs are symmetrical to each other, regardless of the angles you finally arrive at. Nothing ruins the image more than a lopsided bird!

I guess you can use either drawings or photos to guesstimate the angles. Photos are harder to work with since you'll have to take camera perspective into consideration. Drawings might be a better guide. This one is from the 109 Lair website...

I sanded off the screwed up upper crosses, which I will repaint tomorrow. This is still her best side!

Go with the drawlings that John posted on getting them landing gear lined up right. They will stick out a bit farther than you think is right at least it always looks that way to me. Yeah I would say them crosses are overscale they look like they haven't missed a meal before.

She’s got wings!!!! I noticed the crosses as well. Have you got a decal you work off of? Meaning compare the decal to the painted crosses. Something to think about.
