There is definitely a balance struck between careful construction and the demands of the kit. You’re definitely the expert here in both building skill and kit familiarity! I am not a fan of judgments such as “junk,” from anyone; I think everyone should build a ZM kit to support a Mom and Pop company. Hideyuki Shigeta and his wife literally started selling model kits together in a small shop.

I’d like to build one of their 1/48 Phantoms one day. But they do offer some gorgeous kits.

John I’m just sitting back and enjoying the ride here. This kit and your skills are a perfect combination.

Thanks guys! The Ta152H hasn't beaten me but I'm taking a slight breather from the battle. I did get the tailwheel painted up though...

This is looking good John. I always look forward to your updates and progress. I feel your pain on diversions in modeling. I've got a project going on right now that is just kicking my tail.....HARD. I've since started a much simpler OOB build just to feel a sense of accomplishment.

Yeah, I told Hideyuki that I want to build a Zoukei Mura kit too, when he releases it: the 1/72 scale C-5A Galaxy. Told him I can't wait to work on that full interior with operating nose.

Joe. I know what you mean about kits kicking butt. I have a couple now too, and so I've been focusing on some things I can build quick.

John, you are still doing outstanding work on this model; despite the issues. It certainly looks far better than anything I could do with that kit. Keep plugging along man!

Build not dead but plugging away slowly. Preliminary putty work on the starboard wing root... that diagonal joint just forward of the gun cover was a doozy.

I was told to be wary of the windshield/fuselage connection so I went ahead and checked the fit of the clear parts.



Fit looks ok but there is a sizeable gap between the rear edge of the engine cowling and fuselage on the starboard side.

I’m sure that you’ll address that gap and make it disappear. You always do overcome such challenges.

The fit of those clear parts actually looks pretty good.

I'm sure this is going to be an outstanding looking build though John, no matter what it throws at you. Seeing you work does make me want to have a stab at 1/32 some day - I'm liking the detail.
