Oh God, Phantom sub-variants give me a head acheStikpusher wrote:This is gonna be another great one to watch!
Yes indeed... now you should look into the F-4 Phantom or B-17.... lots and lots of sub variants...Stuart wrote:I've think I've learned more about the 109 on SPAM than I have anywhere else. I never knew there were so many iterations - I just assumed they were all the standad marks - E, F, G etc.
Great stuff!

Thank you so much Bruce but you go ahead and hold on to that Trumpeter kit. There are reasons why I've stuck to Hasegawa and Revell!speedgraflex wrote:John! Thank you so much for this information. Tell you what: let me send you the kit (99.9 percent complete as I think I may have pulled a few engine parts, one wing painted in various Gunze colors - should be easy to remove). I will look for the Revell. You have provided me with so much modeling and historical knowledge I would be happy to do this as a gift! Cheers!
I hope you find the Revell G-10 kit. It used to be widely available and very affordable but I think situation has changed. I don't see it in stock at the major etailers or on EBay.
Why don't you build this kit but choose another G-10 subject? There are lots of non-Erla machines to pick from.

I planned a longer update but here is the short version: I’m going to proceed with a review build of a newly released Bf109 D-1 in 1/48 instead.

I hope anyone who started following this one will join me for this project. I am going to start a thread shortly. Stay tuned, and thank you for you patience.

Sounds interesting. So is it going to be a Condor Legion build?

Hah, yeah I looked around and every Erla either in 1/32 or 1/48 was a King’s Ransom, so I decided to look from late to early, then I remembered I spoke with Scott at Rebel Alpha about this kit so I decided to send Scott a message and then he emailed me the tracking number. Should be here in a few days. I want to do a Condor Legion build but there are decals for six different aircraft! Check these out:

Which would you choose? I personally like either the First or the Last profile, but the shark mouth is unforgettable.

It's simple and not flamboyant like most 109's.

I also like the last one but them Switzerland markings are also really cool looking too. I have never heard of this brand, are they new?
