This old gal ain't going without a fight. Man, that upper fuselage piece is a booger to fit with any degree of satisfaction. I ended up making a cut in front of the canopy with the intentions of removing that piece...had my reasons which seemed smart at the time. I was trying to figure out a way to not have to try and mask the canopy, since is was a one piece jobbie and molded to fit around the frame. I just spent way too much time on that idea and trying to come up with some clever way to use the cutter, etc. finally just pressed tape on the thing, traced it with a marker and cut it with the knife. Sheesh.

The good news about the slice in front of the canopy is that is did seem to serve as a stress relieve cut and allowed the top piece to fit a bit more snuggly (if that is a word)

Anyway, we are watching glue dry.

Thanks for checking on that! I guess someone with a MA in Education should have caught that.

Finally got the top piece CA'd on and my cut filled. I did sand the steps off in the front and along the sides, as needed. Obliterated a lot of their rivet detail, but I'd rather get a smoother finish for the paint.

And, at least I know who designed and built the Round Table used by King Arthur. I'll wait.

white is on. Used decanted Ace Hardware Gloss White enamel.....I am going to have to put a smaller diameter needed in the a/b. Comes out like a fire hose. Anyway, next up is to cut (or try to) masks for the scalloped markings. I've already cut the registration numbers. Had to. Some genius at the factory, i guess, put a piece of tape over one of the letters. Duh.





Seems this will have to cure out for a couple of days. Also, I may simply paint the canopy panes black. Nothing inside, and I think there is some seepage under the tape.

It's getting there, Lyle! What's the reasoning behind using Ace Hardware spraycan paint since white is easy to obtain in any form including modeling-specific lacquers, acrylics and enamels?

Well, honestly it was what i had on hand. I did not have any Tamiya X-2 White left. I also have a problem with masks. Ordering online would take 8-10 days. And, so far...it looks okay. Went on pretty well.

If I let it dry thoroughly, I should be okay...I hope. Maybe.the masks will be done on the Silhouette cutter for the most part. Did this one last year.
