Clint that looks so cool with the patch panel look. Kind of tells the story of how desperate the Germans were at this time

It kind of makes since, why spend man hours repainting a few panels on a aircraft that may only survive a few more flights. That time could go into more needed repair work.

Aside from some of the surviving experten in 1945, or a handful of specialized units, I do not think any time was spent on maintaining the appearance of average aircraft.

First off Thanks to Lyle for printing and sending the decals sadly they was too small but he was also nice enough to send me some mask he made with his cutter and I was able to take some of the extra bits of that and carefully cut out a mask to paint the 6 so Lyle still saved the build in the end. Again Thank you so much Lyle.
Here is the 6 painted with Tamiya Nato Black and another gloss coat over the decals. When this drys I will go back with a paint brush to round out the edges a little more.

I’m sorry they didn’t work as planned. Wonder where it went wrong. Glad you could make use of some of it. Looks great.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
