Looks great Kenny! It will really come together once the markings are applied.

Great looking mottling, I've tried using mask and other ways to do mottling, but in the end freehand is always the best looking way to go.

Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall

Floki,

Yeah bro, 100%. I first discovered that with my Galland’s Emil. But I figured I’d give masks and friskets some experimentation. It isn’t without merit. But I prefer the freehand look. And shoot, man, I paint in mottled layers anyway so the learning curve is NIL.

Thank you. gentlemen! It’s a relief to get through the painting stage on any model. Doubly-so for this one, oh man... I’ll gloss coat her tomorrow, and the following day I suppose I’ll get started with the markings. That’ll be a lot of fun and I believe John’s right- she’ll look the goods once those markings go on. I’m really looking forward to seeing the big yellow “1” and the Weeping Raven on there.

I’m so glad I listened to you guys and kept with it. I really am. Thank y’all so much!

This will be hard to believe, but...when I was a lad, I guess, 9-12, My brother an I saw our first skateboard while visiting our Auntsnd Uncle in NJ. It was just that. A metal roller skate nailed to a piece of 2x4.

When we got home, we made our own and had the first ones I had seen down here. Soon our pals had them. Did you ever hit a rock with those metal skates? We had two small hills in the neighborhood.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Lyle,

Okay one: THAT’S RAD.

Two: NO, but- I have hit pebbles with harder wheels and it ain’t no picnic. Nosir. These here wheels are Powell-Peralta “Snakes”. 78 rating on the durometer. Very soft and slick, too. These will be great on my cruiser for the roads down here. They come very highly recommended for folks who wish to cruise and carve on crappy asphalt and believe me, SoLA is full of that!
