Okay one: THAT’S RAD.

Two: NO, but- I have hit pebbles with harder wheels and it ain’t no picnic. Nosir. These here wheels are Powell-Peralta “Snakes”. 78 rating on the durometer. Very soft and slick, too. These will be great on my cruiser for the roads down here. They come very highly recommended for folks who wish to cruise and carve on crappy asphalt and believe me, SoLA is full of that!

I’ve heard about y’all’s pavement. It was featured on a show called “Engineering Catastrophes”...

I know nothing about modern skateboards, but those seem to be just what is needed.

We had a blast in those days.

And here’s an update on Pips’ Emil! As of the end of my lunch break today, we’ve got mottling!







... I tried making masks l/friskets out of old tape, cardboard, silly putty... in the end I was unhappy with all my tests. The edges were either not diffused enough or too diffused, for my liking. So in the end I just freehanded it.

Nice work Kenny! I also freehanded the mottling on my Gotha Go-244. You're right, it is the best technique for this.

Keep it coming. Looking forward as well to seeing this with markings on it.

I got a gloss coat on Pips’ Emil this morning, and I am on-track to start getting the markings on mañana! I’m pleased with how the faint RLM 02 pulled through and adds to the mottling. I was worried the gloss coat would mellow it out too much but my fears proved unfounded. Sigh. I do regret not doing this with the Galland’s Emil I did a long while back. It adds a lot of beauty to the mottling with the RLM 76 as a background color in my opinion.



I also got the back plate/stowage hatch painted and installed in Bartels’ G6:





There are some sundry things which need done on the G6 before I begin the work on the engine, and that includes research, as I plan on adding as much plumbing as I can get away with. More on that later.

Top of the morning, lads!

I worked on getting some markings on Pips’ Emil bright and early. The port side is well under way. Have a look:







The Decal Zen was strong this morning. I was able to accomplish this in about an hour. They just slid right where they’re supposed to go. No mishaps. No fuss. And I opted to end this session on a positive note instead of pushing it. I’ll let it rest tonight and get to the starboard side with the main markings this weekend. After that, stencils. In the meantime, I’m going to turn my attention to the ammunition feeders on the G6. I’d like to get that bit going today.
