Got the weathering done on the interior. First started with a dry brushing of Vallejo German Grey over the high spots, then went to chipping using a piece of packing foam dipped in the Vallejo German Grey and 90% removed by dabbing it on a paper towel before the model. After that was dry the interior got a coat of clear gloss. Then starts enamel paint weathering, first up is a overall filter of MIG brown filter. Then my dot filter process using Model Master Classic White, Dark Tan and Afrika Dunkelgrau. I work one section at a time applying random dots of all three colors then using a square brush moist with enamel thinner I pull the dots in the direction of gravity. The final step was a pin wash in all the panel lines and bolt heads with MIG dark wash. This was left to dry for a day to make sure all the enamel had gassed out. A flat clear coat of Mr. Super clear flat was then put down. The final weathering step was using a No2 pencil and hitting some of the higher spots like bolt heads and sharp edges to show fresher paint damage. The tread plates on the floor was hit the most with the pencil.



After all this 99% of this can not be seen through the open top of the turret but I know it's there and it's good practice to do it anyway.

Two thumbs up on Mr Super Clear Flat, and everything looks superb. You strike the balance between weathered and plain filthy perfectly. Hard use, yes. Maintenance, yes. All the weathering stages come together perfectly, on a a rock solid paint finish.

Thank you so much Bruce. If more could be seen of the interior I would also have added some pigment weathering too. Hitting the floor and foot pedals. I got the top and bottom hull joined and it's sitting in clamps now.

How much pressure are the clamps putting on the framework? I’m curious about how much pressure I can get away with on the halves of the GBZ fuselage.

Bruce I used Irwin bar clamps with just enough pressure to get the two halves joined tightly. Then I ran some liquid glue (styrene tack it) all around the join. After letting it sit all night I have a nice tight fit. When you're clamping the GB I would add pressure slowly and if you hear anything funny stop and check everything before adding more pressure.

Here is the hull halves joined together along with the fenders. I had a few very small gaps here and there along the fenders and decided to just add a consistent bead of PPP along the entire joint then cleaned it up after it sat a few minutes.


Again lookin in from the top most of the interior can't be seen and even less once the turret gets installed.

Got all construction done next up will be a good cleaning with rubbing alcohol then a primer coat.


I got out the jig I have for bending the star antenna.


and luckily I kept the bending jig for the width indicators from the last 251 kit I built just incase I might need it in the future. This kit didn't come with one that I could find nor did the instructions say that one was on molded onto a sprue.


Construction was a breeze on this kit, hardly any flash or sink marks non that would be visible my only complaint would be with the instructions and only the part where it shows how the suspension goes together.
