Airfix 1/48 H.S. Hawk T.1

Nice pick, Stuart!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Oh me too - although I do like the green/grey wrap around as well - but I've built loads of those!Stikpusher wrote:Oh that will be sharp. I love those low vis gray schemes! The challenge is to be subtle and still make it interesting...

Well after a weeks playing about, I'm going to stick a pin in the painting and call it done, I'm about 85% happy with it but it ain't going to get any better than this...
Not too bad for a freehand job with very little masking.

Time for a coat of future and to get the U/C installed.

Thanks All - you're too kind!
I managed to get it up onto it's gear today. I'm not 1005 convinced by the tail high stance, but having looked at some pic's on line it would seem to be accurate - at least in some cases. I still think I might try to adjust it on the next build.

Cheers!

Question for you guys - as once again I reach my least favourite part of modelling... bloody clear coats!
If you were glossing up a matt paint finish to make it gloss, how many coats of clear do you think would be normal? I'm trailing a few brands, but I was mainly thinking Future.
Cheers!

minimum two. Sometimes three. You want a nice even sheen
