Most nights, I sleep from around 8:30/9 till 5:51 when I get up for work.
The "extra" 4 have been ongoing since the beginning of summer...little here, little there.

At most, I typically only have 2 on the bench at any given time. Everything get put back in their respective boxes before I break out any more. All it takes is a shred of paying attention to not mix things up.

Time for some Hellcat action! (Eduard and Dragon)
The Dragon kit has a bit more to offer, detail wise. Eduard is fairly basic, but still great!

Eduard is the smaller, less detailed pit.
Both are OOB, all hand painted.

I'd say the C/H has more/better detail, plus the wingfold option...however, there's a huge gap in the wingfold area that's gonna take some work :headbang:

Eduard kit is simple, and detailed enough to make a nice model.

So.....yes and no!

Decided to tackle the SBD flaps yesterday (I love rain days!!!)

Image

Center section...

Image

The actuators were super bendy...did fine with the center section, ended up tossing the outer sections actuators. Scratched new ones with brass rod and stretched sprue.

Image

Now, just need to figure out a method to the madness of when to paint what.

JimD wrote:Those speed brakes hurt to look at. I'm considering a Dauntless build soon and would LOVE to add the PE brakes...they are works of art...but man my fat fingers...I'd just ruin them.

As always an impressive assembly line you have going. Love me some Navy birds.
Tweezers man....tweezers!!!!
Honestly, I barely used my sausage fingers on these things....metal straight edge, razor blade, x-acto, stretched sprue CA applicator and tweezers.
