I don't normally share pic's halfway through decalling, but I'm liking how this one is coming out...

I’m liking how she’s coming out too, Good Buddy. And here’s a Texas-sized THANK YOU for sharing that photo! I really enjoyed seeing this. I love the stage where the markings are going on but they aren’t completely done yet. It’s like getting a sneak-preview of how the airplane will end up and that just totally does it for me. So cool to see the project taking on its final shape, and the placement of those is nice, tidy, and just lovey-looking to my eye. Good job!

Thanks all for the really kind comments - I really appreciate it.

What I'm really happy about is that I started building this as part of the tribute GB on another forum - it was for an ex-RAF guy that had flown various types during his 30 odd year career, including the Vulcan, F-4, Hunter and over 4000 hours on Hawks. Whilst I was only trying to build an example of the type - it turns out he actually flew this airframe in these markings - I'm really chuffed to bits about that - it makes it more special.

My new job has taken it out of me a bit today, so alas no more work done today, but I'm hoping to get the other side on tomorrow. I'm also wondering about ditching the plastic pitot tube and picking up a metal one.

Yes it is, I was pretty pleased when I found out.

Managed to spend a few minutes on this whilst getting the rids ready for school this morning - decalling the other side of the fuselage. Once that's done there's a bit of painting to do around the U/C and the jet pipe, and some antenna/aerials to add, and then she's done!

I have to say I'm really liking 1/48 for jets - the model has a nice presence to it.
