Awesome work Kenny, I'm really liking how that came out!
That prop looks good, I'm looking forward to seeing more of this build!

Thank you so much, gents! I appreciate it.
John,
I use the soap to break the surface tension. You were bang on the money- I’m doing this over a gloss coat.

I am too, buddy. I can watch videos or read articles all day, but until I can get my hands on it and actually *try* it, the information is useless. And for want of a more experienced modeler to walk me through it step-by-step in-person while I have the tools and paints and whatnot in my hands, yeah.... “Intimidating” is a good word, I dunno man, something changed whenever I had all those problems with the RLM 02 overspray on that project. And then of course there was the debacle with the canopy. I just basically decided that I was gonna just totally go for it with everything I’d been wanting to do but was hesitant of, because like you say, I don’t want to ruin a great kit or build. But I’ve ruined this one two, maybe three times already? And I have to laugh because I’m spite of all it’s faults, The Franken-Emil looks greatthis is shaping up to be one of the finishes I’ve done that I’m the most proud of. Oh how I just LOVE some good irony.
All that said, I’m glad I’m doing this, because I can take these skills and parlay them into the Stuka and “Black 1”, and “Marga” of course. The Zeros will remain pristine, as is customary for me. The Razorback? That’ll be a whole other basket of snakes, but we’ll get to that later.
Well there is this Tamiya P-47 Bubbletop Thunderbolt I can always use as a mule kit. I messed up that kit in ways, I'm not happy with. So at least I got something to fall back on. Most likely I'll salvage bits and parts for another Tamiya Bubbletop P-47 Thunderbolt. So in the Easy Off bath it goes soon....

That’s the spirit!
I cannot over-state the importance and fun factor of having a platform on which to conduct experiments. In this regard I am grateful for every gaff and mishap that occurred with The Franken-Emil. I started that project to try and get my mojo back, and not only did it deliver in that regard, it sacrificed its self for the good of the myriad different projects that arose as a result of getting my mojo back in the sense that it’s helping me practice and level-up my skills in areas I was either lacking in, or terrified of.
My advice? Do it. DO IT. DOOOO EEEEEET!!!!!!!!

I’ve been working on Sweetie’s cockpit all week! I wanted to wait until I’d put the placards in there, but my man Carlos said he couldn’t wait to see it with paint on it, so here we go! Got a ways to go yet, but it’s coming along

Most excellent! Looks great.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
Re: From Kenny X’s Shelf Of Doom
Awesome looking pit and the detail painting is fabulous.

Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won

Kari and Lyle and Clint,
Thank you guys so much!
I have lots more to update you on, and that’ll come tomorrow or Saturday. Sunday at the latest.
In-brief, for kind of like a preview- I quit drinking alcohol and I also quit the “electric lettuce” a few weeks ago. So what happened shortly thereafter was my list of active projects pretty much exploded on account of all of a sudden I wasn’t drinking booze compulsively anymore and needed some way to direct all that energy
So yeah, it’ll be a big update LOL Please stay tuned. Ans thank you again for the good word on Sweetie’s cockpit! I LOVE working on that Tamiya P-47D kit, it is just a dream-come-true for me.
