Thanks for fixing that Lyle. Yeah my dogs were fairly restless too..........................at about 3 this morning. Hey, it promotes plenty of modeling time. lol
The man I'm building this for is more of a mentor/ friend.

I reached a point at where I wanted to install the wing but didn't want to use sprue because the wing had no real structural support. I needed something strong enought to where the model could be handled if lifted by or handled by the wing.

I found it:



and then cut the ends off:



and with a little help from my buddy JB we were under way:



and the wing installation. Still alot of clean up do do here but it was at least installed at this point.

So does your scratched folding-wing hinges work?

Manny: This side will be built displayed down and the other side will be folded up.....................permanantly. There aint gonna be no "special working features" on this build.

Jimmy: I would be pissed too....which is why I have the extra support. Fellas I have to say that this is the most poorly engineered build that I've seen yet. There are others out there I know, I just havent run into them yet.

Well if it was remotely modern I'd be a little more concerned about it. Buy you are talking 1963, man! The leaps in kit engineering that have been made in the past few years is astounding. I picked up building from my dad...who probably built that kit when he was a kid. He passed in 2006...if he were to see something like the Tamiya Corsair or Mustang he'd be blown away.

I don't think I could stick with this hobby if RoG kits were all that I had access to. I'm said it many times that I'm not a snob against them; I just don't have the patience to deal with that baloney. I'm 34...my hair is already grey enough.

The new-tool stuff RoG has put out lately is VERY good...their 72nd JU88 kit is a work of art---beats the crap outta the Hasegawa offering.

My how the times have changed. I've heard nothing but good stuff out of newer Revell kits from other builders and reviews and would give one of those kits a go, as far as sinking ALOT of time and energy into. I went alot further with my Monogram Dauntless kit last year than I normally do with Monogram stuff but in the end I knew what I had and where my limits where with it given the date on the molds (which are in the 60's as well).

I'd like to see that 111 being built when you decide to go that route Jim.
