Kari! Thank you for posting excellent side by side photos. Is the Airfix tail fin really slightly curved? Yes, I have the kit, too, but I wondered if your part was as well since you have completed assembly and I have not.

Maybe not curved but has a bump on the bottom which is much smaller on the Eduard version.

Superb photography. A tricky seam to fill and keep the rivet openings clear as well. Possible for sure. Your model looks beautiful, Kari. Thank you so much for adding a new photograph.

Thanks Bruce, the tail section is not perfect.
But a thin stripe of masking tape should do the trick and protect the rivet openings!

Kari,

I have very fond memories of using Daco brand solvents. These were the gold standard for my Dad on his model trains! Apparently he felt the strongest version was the most effective with model railroad decals which at that time were printed very thickly.

Some detail on the shape of the Mustang Rudder. The rudder is wider on the bottom where it fairs with the fuselage, and that forces a curve in the side view in that area.

Have ordered still some very important stuff for this build and hopefully that will arrive still this year.

What could it be I still need... :hmm: :giggles:
