From Kenny X’s Shelf Of Doom
Re: From Kenny X’s Shelf Of Doom
Proud of you, brother.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
Re: From Kenny X’s Shelf Of Doom
Also glad to hear that Kenny! I've never been much of a drinker and never done any illegal drugs like marijuana but I smoked cigarettes for years. I've quit that 8 years ago and know how hard it is to stop. The best part of quitting is the extra money I put towards buying models and supplies now.

I never did any harmful substances either... (He says next to a bench full of glues paints and thinners...). I certainly never needed to when I was a teenager, I suffered from terrible insomnia. You want to see pink elephants? Then stay awake for 72 hours straight like I used to regularly - you see all sorts of weird shit then.
Proud of you Kenny, that's not a bad thing to do at all!

Lyle,
Thank you buddy! I appreciate that very much and I appreciate you.
Clint,
So many model kits... oh man. I’m just under three weeks of sobriety I’ve accumulated a 1:48 Tamiya F-16 CJ Block 50, a 1:72 Tamiya F-16 CJ Block 50, a 1:72 Zevezda Su-33 Flanker D, a Hasegawa Eagle egg plane, and a 1:72 Academy “Tank Buster”... but buying models doesn’t wreck your liver!
Stuart,
I got a kickass new respirator, and when I’m wearing it, I can’t smell a damn thing! Not even when shooting Mr. Surfacer! They’re a must-have for me anyway. Gotta have the respirator. Also, thank you! And like you, I’m an insomniac as well. Didn’t know you were too, and I’m happy to know I’m in good company!

Proud of you, Kenny! My parents smoked and hated smelling it in the house growing up. Never drank alcohol nor drugs. I do like a Tom Collins once in a while but haven’t had one since my wedding day. That’s over 25 years ago.
So my drug of choice is plastic and my damn good cooking.

Dude that's GREAT news Kenny!!!
I quit drinking 7-1/2 years ago and it's been the greatest thing I've ever done. I was waaaaaaaaaaaaay out of control man. Way out!! Glad you're back, certainly glad you're sober and taking up your time with modeling. I did the same thing in using modeling as a diversion and ......it works. A mind like ours has to be kept busy and this is one way to certainly satisfy an addictive mind. (that and 1:1 scale hotrodding but....that's expensive). I'm here if you need anything.
Pit's lookin' good so far on this one Kenny.

Kenny, it really is a big step when YOU realize it's time to stop. Congrats buddy. I myself will have a beer on occasion but never to excess. I like the taste of beer but not to the point of being hungover. Stopped that crap a long time ago. My Dad was a full blown alcoholic so I know that it's in me.

Re: From Kenny X’s Shelf Of Doom
lol! Thankfully I'm not too bad now - I have my moments, I've found that having kids is a great cure! But yeah, I spent well over tens years of my life surviving on 1-2hrs sleep a night if that, and I was regularly awake to 2-3 days on the trot. It sucks, so if you still suffer it you have my sympathies Dude.KennyX wrote: I’m an insomniac as well. Didn’t know you were too, and I’m happy to know I’m in good company!

Thanks Big Duke!
Okay folks, so I promised you a big update. Apparently sobriety has put a Holley four-barrel and a blower on my creativity! Here it is!
First up, I got a 1:72 Fighting Falcon going. This one will be posed in-flight, wearing Have Glass:

Here’s the cockpit module next to Sweetie’s. Sweetie’s cockpit will get seatbelts and a finished IP in another day or two:

Masking and airbrushing that small wasn’t easy! My first ever ejector seat (pre oil paint and dry brushing):

Continued on next page!
