From actor Rick Overton
ODE TO THE CRAFTER
Hours and hours
Bent and strained
Eyes like a hawk
Steady hand trained
The smell of enamel
The stiction of glue
Just a kid with a scalpel
And a notion or two.
Aurora, Monogram,
Lindberg, Revell!
Stores with sections
Where that’s all they would sell.
Thumbprints and glue spots
Canopies done wrong
Decals on backwards
Why did it take so long?
Well the answer is simple
It was fun the whole way
All the mistakes and triumphs
We still smiled at the end of the day
Some of them went to hang above.
Some of them fell to earth.
And some got tucked away safely
For their sentimental worth
From little kids hobby
To the masters draft
It’s the perfect way to spend the day
Enjoying handiwork and craft.
My fuselage in daylight
Carlos!
Congratulations! Your fuselage looks beautiful! I particularly love the cockpit details you added! I was thinking you could cut a sliver of plastic card to fill the tiny gap.
