OK boys, an update.
All the decks are on, now comes the additional work painting the red antifouling, repairing any broken railings, adding the side boats, AA guns, Island, wood deck, stern girder bracing, splinter ropes, ETC. ETC. And of course more paint. Lots and lots still to do in what?? 189 days to pack it up. I figure I'll get completely done with it, seascape and all before I start on the planes and crew. They are additions to the completed build.

While the deck was drying I started on the 1/72 Helldiver. Not much to show except the unboxing and trying to figure out what I have.
I'll start a separate thread for the Yellow Nose, Green Nose, Blue Nose, Red Tail group build

I started by drilling out the exhaust manifold.

she is a beauty!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

She's one beautiful ship
March as one, Don't look back
Odin's sons... Attack!
Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall

Thanks again guys. I let her sit last night, only removing the tape that held the fore deck down, worked on the Helldiver and brought the Akagi back to the bench to work on her tonight. I took some close ups and wow, you can really see where it needs work.
On the Helldiver, I completed the resin pit and sprayed some interior green. I added a little brown wash and closed the fuse up. I like the resin AM pit but it did need a little trimming here and there. It also came with the wheel well bulkheads so that's nice.

The Helldiver cockpit looks great! Very nicely done with the Interior Green.

I received my .01 dia sprue the other day and started attaching the cross bracing.

Image

I had to remove the aft railing so I could manipulate the tweezers. Jeez my camera takes gawd awful pictures. Or maybe it's the lighting.
I need to complete one more stinger then there are inter wires between them. I'll have four more to do after that.
