Focke Wulf 190-D9 / Red 13 Papagei Staffel

Post by VanceCrozier »

1/72 Academy kit, built OOB except for a replacement canopy from an older Tamiya kit, scratched gunsight and harness. Krylon tan camo paint for primer, Humbrol enamel for the white & red underside, topside colours are mixed Tamiya acrylics. Used the brown Tamiya panel wash to dirty things up a bit. Manny had asked about the 1/2 & 1/2 drop tank colours - NOPE, no references at all for that, just struck me as something that COULD have happened at the airfield level.

Comments & questions always welcome - thanks for looking!

This little candy-striper has turned out nice...you rarely see this scheme in 72nd...

Thanks Manny!

Rarely seen in this scale - a shame really, it's NOT that hard to mask off some stripes and it's a real standout. Some folks just don't have the MOJO to take a chance on it I suppose? I also have the 1/48 ProModeler D13 waiting in the stash, with Papagei markings.

Ich mag papageien!

Meine papagei ist eine dummkopf. Seine name ist Donny, und er ist sieben Jahre alt.

Beautiful work, and so tiny! I am in awe of those of you that build such fantastic models at such a small scale.

Fantastic... I echo the others sentiments regarding small scale. I have enough trouble with 1/48...
Can you fly this plane and land it? Surely you can't be serious? I am serious, and don't call me Shirley

You're getting slightly better with each build...
