Thank you, Owl and Airfixer.
Nice relaunch btw., Erik. Had to chuckle when I translated your name "denglish". But hey, aren't we all a kind of plastic junkies?
Cheers,

That's a very nice model and the pictures make it justice.
The grass looks really realistic, what's your recipe ?

Glad you like it, wasabi.

I'm using Green Line Grass Mats. They are self adhesive, you just have to moisten the basic material and it gets soft and sticky. Another great advantage is that you can rip it like wet paper to achieve fringy border.
It's already painted in several green and brown tones, so no further painting or weathering required. Best stuff I know for creating a quick base.

Must try to remember this, thanks for the hint!

I just had found your jewel here, man, wished I had more time to be lurking around here on SPAModeler... Despite being half-blinded you are a better man than me for you succeeded to actually finish an Eduard Fw 190! And, as said before: it´s a little jewel!

Stunning work. I built the same scheme with the Hasegawa kit last year. Arado built eh?... Interesting. I was inspired by his encounter with Robert Johnson in June of 43. Kudos on the Eduard kit.... Absolutely BRUTAL fit wise. I love your hint of grass, gonna have to find some of that...

Can you fly this plane and land it? Surely you can't be serious? I am serious, and don't call me Shirley

Thanks for your comment, Joe. I must admid that I had more than one close look on your build while finishing mine.
The incident with Johnson is one of those remarkable storys that Hollywood movies are made of, aren't they?

After having finished one of those Eduard Würgers, I'm not afraid doing several more of them.
Cheers,
Torben

This is a beautiful build, Torben.

It is funny how the mind works, I am struggling with a base idea for the Horten: the first base, made of birch plywood and in a natural finish, remained too strong for my taste, and I was thinking about using a clear sheet of acrylic, that the clear would have less of a heaviness, more of a feeling of open skies, and a flying object moving through clouds... and I wondered where it was that I saw another base like this. I knew I had seen this type of base somewhere... and of course you already know the answer, that base was here, supporting a lovely shaped swath of grass matt, beneath the wheels of this amazing model aircraft.

A few comments: this build and these photographs, the integration of the base with the model are all well chosen—I know you mentioned shading techniques being part of the adventure, but to me or rather for me, it is the solidity of the build, the aesthetic of an aircraft that is ready for service, the successful illusion of a much larger field—the imagination, your imagination— suggested by the undulating curves of grass beneath its wheels are spectacular; all of these components are in harmony of historic presentation—all of these elements combine to make a successful narrative as well! You tell a story here, and you do so with panache. I salute you. Bravo. Congratulations are in order.

Impressive photography—angles to showcase the plane's symmetry, its ruler-straight spine and its tonal variance—support the project's success with exquisite attention! Bravo, Torben. Take a well-deserved bow.

All the best—
Make more models!
