Now it's time to walk on over to the next hanger where I have many of my Russian aircraft...

Over here in the "Red" hanger, you'll find many of my Russian aircraft that I've built over the years. As with the Japanese and early German planes, many of these are rather rustic since they were built during my preteen years. Again, all these are in 1/72 scale.

So let's start out with a few of my WWII Russian planes in the front of this hanger here.

Duke, what a splendiferous collection. I do have one question, though. Do you ever go outside? Even your pre-teen work is outstanding for the age group.

Thanks Lyle! yes, I am outside quite a bit, even as a child. I was always so well tanned as a kid from being outdoors all the time. Most summers I spent at least 5 days in the pool for at least a couple hours. My friend Emmanuel and I built a treehouse (2 stories with a balcony!) and a boat that really did float; as well as go-carts and other fun things. We raided local home construction sites for old wood scraps and bent nails that we straightened and used over. We were constantly looking for ways to get in trouble. If anyone told us we couldn't do it, that was the first thing we did. Emmanuel taught me how to paint my models; we would sometimes sit side-by side at his modeling desk and build our models together. I can credit him with teaching me how to improve my models at that time in my life. As an adolescent and young adult, I was heavily involved in church and school activities and after marriage, I continue to be involved in church activities, as well as three hobby groups; all the while running a business that fixes people's homes.

Thanks again for the great compliments. This thread has given me the incentive to continue taking pics of all the models I never took pictures of before. I'd been meaning to get a photographic record of all my models and have always been putting it off. Now with this Thread, I'm taking the time to get those pics, so there's going to be considerably more pictures to come. This will be one long, involved thread! I do hope that you and Thomas don't mind.

Wow....well rounded. I am mostly just round. . . and too short for my weight. Vertically challenged, I think. Keep the pics coming. They are a boatload of fun to look at.

Thanks Lyle! I'm a bit round for my size as well, but I'm slowly thinning down.

I do have a lot more aircraft to get pics of. Hopefully soon. Stay tuned, more to come. I do have to resume the tour after all.

Lyle, Mark AKA Duke Maddog here, is a very prolific builder. In one quarter of any year at IPMS, he will bring in as many if not more new builds than I will in a full year. I always enjoy seeing what he has to bring in at meetings. I wonder when he sleeps. But after reading his childhood description here I kinda think that he never outgrew boyhood enthusiasm (what some folks call being hyper ) Lol!

Mark, that is a great idea to get all your builds photographed for posterity individually... I may have to do the same thing. That's one of the great pros about digital photography... No film, development or printing to worry about... Only digital storage... Very time and space convenient!

Thanks Carlos! Those are some wonderful words! I do sleep at night like everyone else; I get my eight hours a night. I have to: I work with power tools and need all my fingers! Thanks for the support on getting everything photographed. I've been wanting to do it for quite some time and this thread has given me the incentive to do it. I think I need to "set up tours" of my "Army" and "Navy" bases as well to show all those pics; as well as have the incentive to shoot the rest that I'm missing!
