While Googling I found this very interesting story of "Hirano's Zero", I guess most of you recognize this historical picture from 7th of December 1941

Interesting point to the photo - notice the shiny finish to the paint.

Yup.... practically new and one of the very first ones to attack Pearl Harbor. Why go down in a dirty plane when you can make a good impression by flying a clean, shiny airplane after getting shot down at Pearl Harbor. Did the pilot survive?
