Hi all. I'm calling this one done. At least for now. All that's missing is one more crewman. No matter what combos I've tried so far, I can't seem to find the perfect pose in my eyes. I'm sure I will eventually, but until then, it's time to put it on the display shelf and clear more room on my bench.
The title is "Raining Fire And Brimstone". Seeing how it's nickname was the "Priest" due to it's pulpit like machine gun mount, I thought what better way to "convert" the enemy, than by "raining" down "fire & brimstone".
Looks damned good to me! I know trying to find cannon cocker crew figures is a serious challenge. Especially ones who are "in action". You need somebody for the left side operating the breech I think...
"Surely I have made my meaning plain? I intend to avenge myself upon you, Admiral. I have deprived your ship of power, and when I swing 'round, I intend to deprive you of your life."
Exactly right, Carlos. The problem is finding one with the right stance and crouch to fit just inside that M2 ring, without touching it. Obviously, if he was, and pulled that lanyard, his brain bucket won't help prevent the headache he'll have after bouncing his noggin off that steel ring! You'll notice, I've got the lanyard already connected (silver wire braid), I have a few right and left hands in fists holding something, which will simulate the wooden handle nicely, I have a bunch of arms too. All I'm lacking is the proper upper and lower torso to fit.
I figured instead of driving myself nuts looking for it, I'll just work on other things until I either come up with an idea or find something. Ironically, most of the gun crews that are ready made, are wearing either tank tops, (USMC in the Pacific), or long coats, (US Army winter ETO).
Just a suggestion, but if you "frankenstein" bits from these two older Tamiya figure sets
35080 US Combat Group set
and 35086 US Gun and Mortar Team,
I bet you can come up with the right guy...
