I hear ya about photo references for these things. For SINCGARS and other commo gear, aside from the Blue Force Tracker terminal, all of it has come from the factory in NATO/CARC green since that color was first fielded in the second half of the 80’s. I would guess because the CARC properties were a big thing back then. Anything older than that would be in one of the many shades of OD that were used before that era.

I can change the color, at least where somebody would see them. Not a problem. I like to be a accurate a possible.
I'm going to HobbyTown after work anyway. I can pick up some NATO green.

I repainted most of the radios NATO green, at least what can be seen. I left a couple black so everything doesn't look so monochrome, even though I'm sure it is. A little artistic license I suppose. I should get the seatbelt buckles this Friday and I'll complete the belts and seats. I also received some backpacks from Legend which I put one or two in the vehicle for a extra amount of interest. The scene I'm looking to build is the M-ATV is sitting, door open and hood up while a welder repairs something (don't know what yet) and a couple of special forces are impatiently waiting.
Stick, let me know if that's a plausible scene since the only military maintenance I know is aboard ship. I could have a few deck apes needle gunning the deck or hull. God what a racket!

Very nice. Looks great.

Does look great. What are you using for reference? I'm thinking of doing my 1/16 scale MRAP this year.
Thanks,
John

Seriously though, I found a few pictures of actual MRAP's on the web. Most are new just delivered, a few are in action, even less are units that have been in the field for a while. I did find a YouTube walkaround about 10 min long made by what I assume is an ex military guy.

While working on the cab with the PE (PIA) and creating some belts which look passable, I started on some of the figures.
I have 2 (so far) special forces guys and waiting on a few more and a welder. Since the welder is WW2, I had to do some modification to him like add and apron to hide the waistband of the jacket and some missing pant pockets. The apron and jacket will be a light gray leather. Anyway, here is what I have. I'm not a figure painter but I'm really trying to get these guys right. Nice figures BTW. I still have quite a bit to do such as adding more colors to the belts, guns, neckerchief, faces, arms, shading and highlights ETC. Most of the colors will be toned down in the end with dust and such.
