The original eggplane: the XF-85 Goblin (MPM 1/72)

I blended the canopy with the fuselage with putty. I used Sintofer automotive putty. When thinned it is exactly like Mr. Surfacer 500.




I also added two small pieces of plastic on the trolley. Otherwise the supports would not reach the fuselage.

I sprayed a black base on the whole plane. I will mask the anti glare panel and spray the rest aluminium :



The Goblin packed for the flight back home (Geneva-Amsterdam). This model is going to fly longer the ant Goblin has done before!

In case you are going to make use of an Alclad metallic paint here be assured to have the complete kit fully covered on Alclad´s own Gloss Black or Tamiya gloss black. I have seen Alclad paint having had an "biting" effect on unprotected bare plastic.

Thanks for the advice Thomas. I am going to do this NMF exactly the same as the Hayabusa build. So I will use acrylic paint from a spray can (Duplicolor). But you are definitely right on the need for a second coat of black. This one does not cover enough. But two thin layers are often better then one thick layer.

The Goblin survived its flight with Easyjet perfectly. I hope to spray a second coat of black this afternoon.
