Thanks Lyle!

Been plugging away with putty, sand, prime, repeat. The wings are where I want them, and the fuselage is getting there. I worked on the engines and exhausts while waiting for things to dry.

Normally I would very fine wire, and small round styrene to make spark plug wires, but this is a no frills build.

I did at least drill out the end of the exhausts. I feel like I need to repaint them. They don't quite have the look I want.

Now this kit is really taking up some real estate.

It will be more putty, sand, prime, repeat tomorrow. I probably won't get much, if any time in at the bench on Friday. I head out to the museum in afternoon, and won't be back until Saturday evening sometime. But if all goes well I could be ready for paint sometime next week. I do have "adult" things that should be done outside too. :headslap: I'd rather be at the bench.

Great stuff - that's coming along nicely.

The Dakota is one of those aircraft that just looks great from any angle.

Thanks guys! I probably won't have much time to work on it over the weekend. I'll be heading to the museum tomorrow afternoon, and won't be back until Saturday evening. Then Sunday the kiddo and myself are supposed to pull weeds from the flower beds, and put up the Halloween decor outside. Fun stuff, lol.

Been working on the whole putty, sand, prime, repeat phase. In between while letting things dry I worked on little odds and ends like the propellers, and wheels.

I managed to get to a point where I was happy with how things looked, and threw on the underside color. For those who haven't followed one of my Mini Whiskey builds before I have to paint things a little backwards since I use acrylic craft paint for the main colors and I try to mask over that as little as possible.

Also scratch made some fiddly bits on the bottom.

Should get the invasion stripes painted tomorrow. We'll see how things go.

Good work on the scratch stuff. She is looking good.

Thanks guy!
Been working on painting off and on between adulting, lol. Masking for invasion stripes is a task in itself. I have to fix the one on the fuselage, I must of gone cross eyed while trying to measure things, and it's a bit off. Oh well, not a big deal.

I have no patience, and ripped the masking off right after painting, lol.

Not sure if I'm going to be able to get much done tomorrow, I have more adulting to do, garage needs cleaned. Fingers crossed I can get it done in a decent amount of time.

Looking good, Keyda! When I do D-Day Invasion stripes, I don’t worry about straight lines since the stripes are hand painted on. I try to replicate the hand painted look by handbrushing them. Never airbrushed. However, getting the stripes in equal widths is a biatch and frustrating to do.
