Blacksheep, they are planning on June 10th & 11th currently. That won't really be set in stone until after ICAS though.

tempestjohnny, You know I think about that. It does seem things happened at the perfect time. Funny thing is Hubby and myself used to hunt at state land a mere 20 minutes away from the museum, would even drive by when going to town to get supplies, and never knew it was there. Hidden down in the valley from Geneseo, down a long dirt road, you just don't see the planes from the main road.

Some progress from yesterday. The lovely shade of green zinc chromate.



That is it for the interior. Two seats, control sticks, and an instrument panel. Weathered things a bit after painting some anti-skid stripes on the floor, and glued the windows in.





Didn't take very long to get a whole airplane, lol.







Test fit the gear and tire once everything was together, just to make sure.



Fit on the kit isn't too bad. I have noticed things are a bit over exaggerated, like the panel lines and what not, but it should be suitable for hanging on the ceiling once it's finished. I'll likely paint the details on rather than using decals. I should of done the same on the Herc, but I needed a break from making masks, and going through the stress of painting that stuff on, lol. I already have the masks cut for this, made them up a while ago. Not sure if I'll make any progress on this today. I have several batches of cookies to make, as we are doing a flyover with Whiskey 7 tomorrow, and taking Veteran's along for the ride, and serving lunch when they get back.

That weekend won’t be good for me. June 11th we celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary.

That's kind of funny. The airshow usually lands up interrupting mine and Hubby's anniversary. It's on July 10th. In 2019 I took his truck and our big camper out there and left on the day of our anniversary. Didn't have an airshow in 2020, 2021 I was out there with our daughter, so he drove out with his brother to see the show, then we all went out to the local diner for dinner.

Didn't have much time to work on Super Mini D-Day Whiskey 7 over the weekend. Spent Saturday at the museum. Then Sunday was spent at my cousins house visiting some relatives from Canada. There wasn't a whole lot of progress anyway, mostly putty, sand, prime, repeat.

Ready for paint.



Fiddly bits are all ready to go once the plane is ready for them, wheels, and exhaust.



Gear and props.



All painted. OD and some Faded OD marbled in, give it that "used" look. Underside Neutral gray.





All masked off and ready for what I thought was all the white. Later remembered the National Insignia.



I masked off and painted the areas where the invasions stripes are and put a white base down as well. After the white.



I got so carried away painting I forgot to take more pictures. But I masked off for the insignia, painted them white, then covered up the areas that need to stay white, and painted them blue. Painted the tail number yellow, and pulled all the masking. Then marked out where the black of the invasion stripes was going to go. Used a brush and painted the black, and went over the white as well.





I still need to mask off and paint the de-icing boot areas, then do some detail painting. Then it will be onto weathering. Which is the fun part. Unlike the Herc this isn't going to clean.

Thank you! You'll have to let me know how that one builds up. I was going to get that one for this build, but at the time the price was a bit over what I was willing to pay for a 1/72 kit. I think it was the same price as the old Monogram 1/48. Just couldn't bring myself to pay that, lol.

Nice solid white ! I like the way you mottled in that color to start with and then did the solid striping. Shows really well in the pic that’s for sure.
