Thanks, me too. It was certainly nasty. Keeping my fingers crossed I don't come down with it.
There is only one camera place about 20-30 min away from me, and I took it there in the spring to have it cleaned. Got charged 60 bucks, and it was still dirty. So I got some special swabs off Amazon, and cleaned it myself. I just had little specs in my pictures, after I cleaned it they were gone. So I don't trust the place to fix my camera. Figured I would take a crack at it myself after watching a youtube video. Didn't seem too complicated, just had to be careful. I did land up losing the tiny ball bearing that operated one of the other dials on the camera. I never even seen the thing come out. Looked everywhere for it. The spring that went with it was there, but I never seen the ball bearing anywhere. I landed up making a bullet type shape out of styrene rod that was the same diameter as the spring, and glued it to the spring. Carefully wedged it back in where it needed to go, and it works. I didn't want to spend three hundred bucks or more on a refurbished camera body. So I figured it was worth a shot.

Wow! Well done you for fixing your own camera, can I send you my Sigma 28-300, the autofocus is US.

Good news on your daughter! My wife had some sort of flu-like crap last week, and sure enough I caught it too. I've been sick since Friday night, with a lil' fever, chills, aching all over and some coughing too. Sounds like the flu to me.

Hope you are feeling better by now!
Kiddo is just about 100%. Still has a bit of a cough, but I sent her back to school on Tuesday. Today is her last day before Christmas break. Good news is I've managed to avoid it, so far. I say so far, cause now hubby has it.
Fortunately not as bad as my daughter had it. So I'm still in avoidance mode spraying the house down with either Lysol or that Microban stuff. Can't seem to get the mojo worked up to get back to the bench. Hopefully today. I don't have much else going on besides laundry and making dinner, so I should really get back up there and get back work. Today is literally the calm before the storm day too. We are supposed to get hit with what they are calling a possible "historic" storm. We are supposed to go out Christmas Eve, and day, but we'll see if that even happens. Don't have to go to far, but the news is saying travel will be impossible at times. I find that a bit hard to believe though. This is WNY, and we deal with snow all the time. We shall see though. If I don't manage an update before Christmas, Merry Christmas everyone!

Speaking of historic storms......The weather got bad within just a few hours yesterday evening with temperatures dropping down to the 20's here in Corpus. Now that might not sound too low to you folks who have learned to live with temperatures nearing or below zero but here in the good ol' Coastal Bend area that's about as cold as it gets.
I'm a north Texas native where there's actually four seasons in a year. Here in Corpus, there are two 1.) Summer and 2.) Almost Summer.
I lost 3rd and 4th gear in my transmission this past Saturday so I had my tranny guy build me one that'll actually take what I've got in front of it and was in a race against time in the 70-degree weather we had yesterday afternoon. I took the last half day off of work to install it before the temperatures dropped and the windspeeds kicked up which paid off tremendously because I was able to finish it up with about an hour and a half to spare. Wind started picking up right around 5pm and the temperature drop followed it soon afterwards. I don't mind the cold so much but the last thing I want to contend with as I'm doing something like a tranny install on the dang ground in my driveway is colder temperatures and a whipping wind.
Glad to hear that your daughter is mostly over here stint with this stuff and hope your husband gets over his pretty quick.

Thank you keyda and Joe! I do feel much better, still have a runny nose and some cough but no fever or chills or aching all over. It feels good to feel good again.
