The one reason I hated the Revellogram kit is the molded in cowl on one boom. I preferred them separate.
My first idea was cut off the molded in cowl and buy correct aftermarket cowl pair.

I'm not a huge fan of it either. I do have resin engines for it, but they are all one piece, cowling and engine. Which would make it very difficult to paint the engines. So I just chose to use the kit parts. I hadn't realized the other cowling has the cowl flaps open, and one closed until earlier today. Oh well. I'm not going to muck with it now. It's certainly possibly someone got distracted and only opened/closed one cowl flap. If the control is anything like it is in Whiskey 7 they are operated separately from one another.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys! It's really helping me get through this. I should have some time to work on it tomorrow, hopefully get the boom/wing seams taken care of, and get some more work done on the fuselage.

Wow, I stay away a few days and this is suddenly halfway done... and looking stupendous at that! You got some mad skills milady! Wow, I am looking forward to seeing more!

Spent several days picking away at the boom/wing seams. One was worse than the other with the gaps. I was originally intending on using Apoxie sculpt and smoothing it with a wet Q-tip, which worked well on one wing, but not the other. I struggled with it for some reason. So I just went with dissolved putty. I landed up using that on both, and doing some sanding. Which I was trying to avoid.

Right wing got the Apoxie sculpt. Which worked out rather well. I used dissolved putty in the other areas.





Nearing the end of putty, sand, prime, repeat.



Finally after several rounds I was okay with how it looked. Anything else can be included as part of weathering. One thing I have to try and keep in mind is these are old war birds I'm doing, they weren't perfect by any means, and had some dings and dents in them I'm sure. Now I have a whole airplane.





And that means I have more seams to work on.





I'm hoping I can have it ready for paint some time this week. Just need to get those seams taken care of.

Oh this one is shaping up very nicely Keyda! That is one big fighter! And yes, you are most correct in that operational combat aircraft do look more beat up than the ones that find their way to the air show circuit or most air museums museums. At least the indoor museums. Outdoor display aircraft tend to fall victims to the elements.
