Today's progress. I used Tamiya's masking pattern for a pattern and cut masks for the canopy. Fit was perfect. I have one spot that needs some correction for fit, right on the top of the nose at the front. The other side is fine. I'm sure it is my fault and not Mr. Tamiya's.

Really nice John.
Are you having folded wingtips on this one?

To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Nice. One, too. This one was somewhat a bargain.

Lyle's gone to the dark side!
The gray green is on, and a clear coat to protect the gray green in case I make a mess of the interesting patchy dark green upper color.

Re: Empire of the Rising Sun Group Build
Because all my current projects are waiting for paint to dry, or in the case of the Alfetta my loins to gird, I am starting on the A6M2-K. I am confused as to why it is called an A6M2-K and not an A6M5-K, as it has the wing of the A6M5. Whatever. Pictures later tonight as I am off to my grandson's baseball game.

Lyle, you’re gonna really enjoy the Chi Ha kit. It is a truly great build!
John, that Chi To looks interesting. I wonder how those would have fared against Pershings and 76mm Shermans had the invasion of Japan come to pass.
John, the A6M2-K sure looks intriguing… a modified M2 fuselage for a tandem seater, and then fitted with a M5 wing? Quite the pick a part collection…

Carlos, they may have all been modifications of existing airframes, but always with the type 11/21 engine installations. I'll have to read through Francillon again. It is said that there is no real documentation for what the rear cockpit really looked like.
