What's on your work bench atm ?
Re: What's on your work bench atm ?
I'm sticking with "utter chaos".
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Grabbed my TA-4J from the shelf of Doom. Waiting for paint to dry so I can gloss it up for decals

Nice. I see you do the same thing with paint swatches on index cards. Each hobby paint brand are different shades and I usually pick one that looks good in my eyes.

Re: What's on your work bench atm ?
Merry Christmas everyone,
I have finally installed myself at my bench and decided to do some creative, out of the box, building. I have a number of unfinished builds lying here and there, but still decided to let them wait and start with something new.
Bought some months ago a second hand kit, Accurate Miniatures TBM-3 Avenger in 1:48. The previous owner had started with the wings, the kit had some Eduard AM PE stuff (flaps etc) in the box etc. Nothing I am so keen to use at this moment. Nevertheless, I started the build already a few months ago, slowly but surely in other words. Not really an easy build, thanks or due the rather complex "internals".
Test fitting and test fitting and test fitting before I will go for the first milestone, to close up the fuselage halves. So much stuff to be squeezed inside the fuselage.
The kit itself is really great, a lot of fine and crispy details.

Plan is to finish the kit still this year, I got the canopy masks last week, so there should not be any showstoppers for the build..

Re: What's on your work bench atm ?
Merry Christmas, Kari! I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with this choice of subject (or subjects). What is always best expressed by your projects is outside the box style of thinking which is quite rare and also quite important to share with the rest of us. Too often it is a “wash, rinse, repeat” approach to building models that is taken as the best approach when really almost anything can and should be permitted.
Mistakes. Should. Happen.
Ideas should flow. New ideas.
What’s most important for the often discussed idiom “loss of mojo” is really often a result of frustration with the limitations of form itself, with too many “Attaboys” (in my mind’s eye embodied by scrawny, sniveling Gollums) receiving some kind of thin pleasure by showcasing their skills.
What remains most interesting—perhaps SPAM still holds a bit of this magic—is the ability of model builders to make each project their own. I have always felt that way about your work and look forward to future posts!

Watching this one. Already have the Dauntless in my stash. I need to get the Avenger and Devastator in my stash.
