Impressive arrangement, Mike! :shoutout: I'm well aware of Thompson's great reputation and it's richly deserved, but it also takes a skilled archer to shoot like that! Good show and great shooting!

My two grandsons, both 9 and closer to 10, and I spent the night in our cabin out at our ranch, Brokenoak. My wife brought out pizza and visited a while. This morning, Johnny and Sullivan (Sully) got in a bit of shooting. They warmed up with their Daisy BB guns, moved to a Benjamin .22 pellet rifle and then took turns shooting the two single-shot 1950 ZKM-468 CZ-made "garden gun" .22 bolt-actions. They're turning into pretty fair shots; a little more time and we'll move up to some center-fire rifles like the AK-74. That should be about right for their size!

I had really forgotten about this thread and had intended to get back with some pics and video. After battling YouTube for most of the morning, I think we're ready for a test drive. My grandsons, Johnny Huerta and Sullivan Brantley are only 4 months apart in age with John the elder. Johnny turned 10 in August and Sully will be 10 on Wednesday this week! This past summer, the three of us spent the night in our cabin and next morning, they got in a bit of shooting. We were on the front porch, and they took turns shooting the twin, ZKM 468 "garden guns", made in 1950 in Czechoslovakia.

Film at eleven!

To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Thanks for helping me out, Lyle!

Ol' Sully's getting better! We still have to work on that "chicken wing" sticking out when he shoots; gotta tuck that arm in more! This video was finally approved by YouTube after I appealed their removal of it earlier. For some reason, an almost exact version of it featuring the other grandson, Johnny, was removed, reinstated and then removed again. Oy vey! :headslap:

Here's a brief video of our grandson Johnny shooting the .22 rifle. Sorry that I'm unable to embed it though.
