1/48 scale Dual build Spitfire Mk.Vbs

Post by BlackSheep214 »

My first two completed builds of 2025.

First up is the Hasegawa WW2 Russian Spitfire Mk.Vb 'Red Star'. A fun build. The decals were sort of brittle but workable.

Next is the Tamiya Spitfire Mk.Vb Clipped Wings - s/n BL479 of No.316 Squadron. Typical Tamiya good fit and ease of assembly. Decals are still notoriously thick - especially the roundels on top and undersides of wings.

A side by side comparison. Both are very close in same size but Tamiya seems to be a bit robust compared to the Hasegawa kit.

Nice work, Tom. They look great.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Thank you for the kind words. There will be another dual build later this year. You’ll just have to wait to find out what it is. :giggles:
