Academy 1/35 scale M3 Stuart "Honey"

Post by BlackSheep214 »

I really enjoyed this build. No fit issues and everything went together well. I've read reviews stating the tracks were wrong but I don't care. Box cover Caunter color scheme is all wrong when I researched for the correct colors. I used AK Interactive Portland Stone, Light Stone, Silver Grey Green, and Slate.

Wow Tom that turned out great. Awesome finish and love the weathering. Makes me want to build one. Maybe I need to rethink this whole armor thing :hmm:
Thanks,
John

To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

If you find the Academy M3 Stuart kit, you won’t be disappointed. Weathering I used Tamiya Black Paneliner.

Really nicely done Tom! You did a cracking job on that one.

Glad to hear it's a nice kit - I've been thinking of getting the Airfix reboxing.

I looked into the Airfix Stuart kit. The instruction guide is exactly the same as the Academy kit. It appears to be a repop from the Academy kit as well. Having seen it, I’ll definitely will get it due to a different variation scheme of the North Africa Theater.
Hell…. I’ll get two of them. :lashed:

I thought it was - I think the majority of the Airfix 1/35 kits are ex-Academy, asides from the recent Ambulance and Ferret. Although I think (certainly for the ambulance) they had help from Academy in designing and moulding it.

I'd like to get one to do with a few of the other North African kits I have in the stash.
